The Virginia Law Enforcement Sheriffs’ Association is calling on current Democratic candidate for Attorney General Jay Jones to end his campaign amid reports Jones discussed the hypothetical death of former Speaker of the House of Delegates Todd Gilbert in 2022. Jones is also being accused of saying that if more police were killed it would reduce shootings of civilians-while discussing qualified immunity for police. In a statement the association says they will not follow an individual who makes these kinds of statements against law enforcement officers and political opponents. The Virginia Fraternal Order of Police has also called on Jones to end his campaign.
