After nearly three decades on WSLQ – Q99 and a distinguished 35-year broadcasting career, veteran radio personality David Page has announced his upcoming retirement. His final full-time broadcast on Q99 will air on Friday, December 11, 2026.
As one half of the iconic “Dick & Dave” morning show alongside co-host Dick Daniels, Page has been a constant voice and community leader across the Roanoke and Lynchburg regions. Beyond entertaining listeners each morning, the duo helped lead major charitable initiatives, most notably “Dick and Dave’s Miracle Day,” which has raised more than $3 million for the Children’s Miracle Network.
Their work has earned wide acclaim, including frequent top honors in reader-voted contests across The Roanoker Magazine, Lynchburg’s City Magazine, and Lynchburg Living. Throughout his tenure, Page anchored coverage during critical local and national moments, including the events of September 11, 2001, and the tragedy at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007.
“Everybody loves Dave. Dave has been an anchor for Q99, our company, and our listeners for nearly 30 years. He is always so full of positivity and has absolutely helped to make our company a better place to work,” said Brett Sharp, Vice President and General Manager of Wheeler Media Solutions. “His dedication to our community, his quick wit, and his partnership with Dick Daniels have helped shape Q99 into what it is today. We will miss him in the hallways and especially on the airwaves, but we are hopeful to have Dave do some Q99 cameos and fill-ins from time to time. We wish Dave nothing but a happy retirement and lots of sleeping in.”
A native of Long Beach, California, Page served 10 years in the U.S. Army, where he first discovered his passion for broadcasting. After completing his military service, he attended broadcasting school and joined WSLQ and WSLC in 1991. Following a short stint at a station in Raleigh in 1993, Page returned to Q99 in 2000, where he has remained a cornerstone of the morning lineup ever since.
In retirement, Page looks forward to spending more time with his wife of over 40 years, Michele, and their rescue Beagle, Penelope. He also plans to pursue his passion for painting—a hobby developed during COVID-19 that has led to features in local art galleries—alongside reading, global travel, and following his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. He and Michele are also proud parents of their daughter, Kassidy, a 2015 Virginia Tech graduate currently residing in Seattle, Washington.
